All About Tony McDowell
My name is Tony McDowell. I am a French British singer and musician based in Zaragoza, Spain. I have been playing the guitar and drums for the past 15 years. Since then, I have developed my skills in electronic sound production, learning how to use instruments such as modular synthesisers and digital samplers and sequencers, and how to build homemade instruments in the likes of cigar box guitars, tin can microphones, noise boxes, tape echo pedals and sofore.
As a solo artist, I use my range of skills in live performances that range to classic singer-songwriter compositions to avant-guard experimentalism. I have performed in France, the UK, Spain, The Netherlands, Belgium, Croatia and Turkey.
I have been teaching music for the last 4 years. At first as a guitar instructor for one-to-one private lessons, I have recently began to organise group workshops aimed at kids and adults alike who would like to build and learn to play with amplifiable instruments objects such as cigar box guitars, kalimbas, tape collages, tape echos, made from recycled materials.
I hope to share this huge passion I have for music and what I do and enjoy working with whoever wishes to explore the world of sound design!
